What suits me

A little sneak preview... This midnight purple boyfriend blazer was a recent addition to my closet, and I bumped in to the matching tapered pants yesterday. I've never owned a two piece before, and although I probably like the items best individually it's kind of cool to have the option.

Set in stone

What better way to wake up on my birthday last tuesday, than to a package with a beautiful birthday gift? Big thanks to Fashionology.nl for these little gems - well, not that little actually, they're quite the attention grabbers ;). I love the pure and natural look these pendants have, and the subtle silver casing. You'll be spotting these sweet stones in outfit pictures soon! (I'm actually wearing the rose quartz necklace as I'm typing this!).

ps. I've been having trouble with Blogger for weeks: I still can't comment on my own post. I keep getting redirected to log in when I try to comment. Anyone knows how to fix this problem?
EDIT: Robine just mentioned in the comments that it works if you sign in but don't tick the 'keep me signed in'-box.

My YSL clutch

You might have seen my new Yves Saint Laurent clutch make an appearance in this outfit posts, but nonetheless it deserved it's own spot on the blog (it is my first designer bag after all!) It's now subtly displayed on a shelf in my closet, screaming to be taken out for a night of cocktails.

Black suede Balenciaga: an urban bag myth?

Ever since I started developing any fashion sense I had a crush on Balenciaga bags. (It all started with the bright seagreen motorcycle bag – I blame the Olsens). Years later, I’m still extremely fond of them, but it never got to a point of investing in one because a) the price and b) I have a feeling I’ve seen them so often. But then… BAM! This black suede Balenciaga town bag hit me in the face. I know I want that to be my first designer handbag. The one problem: I CAN’T FIND IT ANYWHERE! Black Balenciaga’s in leather, yes. Suede Balenciaga's in tan, green and navy, yes. But no black suede Balenciaga town bag.
So if you know a store or online shop that sells a black suede Balenciaga bag in model town (or maybe velo or city), please let me know! And release me from my obsessive online bag hunting ;)

Outfit: Ultraviolet

Silky tops in bright colors seem to become my wardrobe staple for spring. It all started with my neon green top (worn here) and last week I added this soft purple one from Modekungen (hard to resist on sale :P). The detail of the concealed buttons is something I personally love. Also... let me introduce you to my new Yves Saint Laurent clutch that I brought home from Paris last week. It feels so timeless and chic, and the size is just perfect for upcoming parties and events.

Some sweet shopping

Clicked home some items from my 'to get' list at Shopbop and found them on my doorstep just a few days later. First was a pair of office appropriate shorts - surprisingly these pure silk ones T by Alexander Wang shorts costed me just as much as my silk top from Zara. Then the tortoise sunnies I showed you here, a big cocktail ring from my last outfit post (I didn't have any gold rings!). And lastly a pair of 7 for All Mankind skinny jeggings. They look and feel like perfect dark grey skinnies but are a bit more elastic so they fit like a glove. Too bad I ordered them a bit too small... And getting a size up will cost me a lot of import taxes again. So just send me an e-mail if you're interested in those! (they are a size 27) :)

What did I get?

Karen Walker turtoise deep freeze sunglasses

Oh, Yves...

The past three days in Paris were unbelievable. Mostly because I got to see the office of Yves Saint Laurent himself. Still pretty unbelievable to me that I visited this place that so few will ever get a chance to see.  I wish I could have taken you with me through pictures, unfortunately but very understandable that wasn't allowed. His sophisticated assistant, who worked by his side for years and years, showed us around in his white office with a huge mirror and walls covered in books for inspiration. I stood by monsieur Yves Saint Laurent's desk, saw his unique personal belongings, his original design sketches in black pencil lines and designs he tried out by making them in cotton first. To experience his legacy and talent from so close, was a magical and special experience. And I'm so gratefull to have seen the place where YSL's creations came to life.

I left Paris with this small white bag with the brand's name printed on it. What's inside? You'll find out soon ;)

What's in my bag?

So... what do I lug around all day? Click on the link below to find out! And tell me about the content of your bag!

Like I said here, your home says a lot about you. And you know what else does? The content of your handbag! I totally 'bag my life' and wanted to show you what's inside. This is what I carry around on work days. Of course I'm capable of packing lighter but I like to have things I might need within reach. And what's in yours?

1)  big Moleskine organizer
2)  foldable H&M leopard shopper
3)  Polkadot tape
4)  H&M make up bag with:
5)  MAC kabuki brush / L'OrĂ©al Volume Millon Lashes mascara / Chanel eye shadow / Boots eyeshadow / Labello lip balm / OPI red polish
6)  Jean Paul Gaultier classique, my perfume for years
7)  Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour cream for dry lips or hands
8)  Random silver jewelry
9)  Blackberry Curve
10) Little post-it's for my organizer
11) Zip wallet from Mango
12) Canon small camera for on the go
13) My sunnies: Ray Ban Wayferers
14) Business cards in Filippa K purse
15) Evian water spray, tried it out for warm days
16) Light for my bicycle
17) H&M notebook
18) Neill Barett 'notebook' USB card

A little gift

At the Filippa K 10th anniversary event (that I blogged about here) I was given this cute, nude colored purse. The thick leather is beautiful - so are all their leather goodies by the way - and just so happened to match my nails! Right now it holds my business cards and it's also the perfect little wallet for when I just want to carry some cash and bank cards.

Shoot you with my Pistol boots

I can't tell you how great it feels to finally have boots with a lower heel that can take me around town all day. My choices were pretty much limited to All Stars and a bunch of really high heels. At first I ordered a pair of Pistol look-a-likes because they were a bit more affordable. Gorgeous, but they didn't fit. So I decided to get the Acne version after all and I couldn't be more happy.

Take two

To most of you these boots are no strangers... You've seen me debut their orange counterparts last week (I wore them here). And now I couldn't help but cave for all black. I'm sporting them today, when I'll be speaking for a 160 people audience at Sanoma Media Parade to talk about This chick's got style and about my new book: 'Focus op Fans', the first Dutch book about brand activation. Let's hope these fellas are a lucky charm!

A trench affair

Peek-a-boo... here's a glimpse of my new jacket. Beige trench coats are often dubbed one of the classic wardrobe staples. Even though I don't believe there's such a thing as a standard list for what every women should own, I do feel this coat is a good addition to my wardrobe. Since the length and color are exactly how I would envision a trench and the cut is basic but not boring, it will probably last me a lot of summers.

Shoe shopping

Click, click, shop, shop. In a matter of minutes I clicked home these orange/red platforms two weeks ago, after seeing them on a Swedish blog. And although the quality isn't great, I think these boots are pretty awesome. I have a thing for chunky shoes with major platforms anyway. They're quite the showstoppers here in Amsterdam!

On a more personal note...

I'm looking for an affordable appartment / studio in Amsterdam.
With no shared commodities, no roommates. Just me :)

Any ideas?

Something new

Something I think is absolutely fantastic, is a jackets that's partial leather, partial something else. I haven't found a short version yet (except this Gestuz one I borrowed and wore here in London). But this long version with big collar and zip detail from Shampalove is pretty damn awesome as well. The rest of the outfit will follow shortly :)
PS. speaking of short... most of you that follow me on Twitter know I got a much needed hair cut. It's not what I had in mind at all - or asked for. Honestly, I was a bit upset and it took me a few hours (OK, two days) of feeling sorry for myself :P But in the end I have to face that a wrong hair cut, as much as it makes me feel bad, is not the most important thing going on in the world right now.

Show me some love

After handwritten tattoo’s - preferably on the inside of the upper arm - I foresee a new trend: handwritten jewelry. This fine lined ring is so subtle and my new source of many compliments. Which is the same way it even got on my fingers; at dinner in the Cavalli Club in Florence, I told Caroline I loved her rings. She stacked the gold and silver version on one finger and it looked sublime. Then she took them of and said ‘here, choose one.’ Surely that’s the personality to match such a cute ring!
