I just got word that I am going to be a guest on the Martha Stewart show! Taping dates are still unconfirmed but the taping will either be in 10 days (yipes!!!) or on the 18th of September. There is so much to do between and now and then to get the projects and supplies ready my head is spinning!
But I am excited beyond words!

opps i did it again!
Here I am at almost 1am on the computer again. My eyes are burnt and raw but emails are taken care of, web site is updated and I found an envelope to use for my custom artwork gift certificates! I want to have the certificates all done well in advance of the holidays.I am also trying out a new idea of an "on its way" card. This would be for people who ordered their custom work too late for it to be done for the birthday or holiday, they would be able to give this card with a brochure that explains their artwork is being created right now and then it will give an estimated arrival date listed on the card. I am hoping this will help at Christmas time, I will be able to take "on its way" orders right up until Christmas day and the client can get me started on the artwork and then give the card to their recipient. Dawn at Anna Bella is helping me design and print the gift certificates. yay!
This artwork, is part of a round robin self-portrait journal exchange that I am in. I used the new September kit papers from Scrap in Style TV, loved the paper I used for the green dress, so bright and cheery! We have been doing this exchange for almost two years and we are almost done!

I'm up too late again messing with business/computer stuff. I had every intention of being in bed by now, but it hasn't worked out that way. Emails sucked up my time, then it was messing with my web site , after that I was looking at boxes and containers to offer custom artwork gift certificates in. before I know it, it's past midnight!
I always get caught up in computer work late into the night, then I regret it in the morning when I am trying to wake up.
I am bleary-eyed and as my mom would say "my eyes feel like two burnt holes in a blanket" so that means it's bed time! See you tomorrow!

weekend's over
The weekend has been and gone and I don't know where it went! Friday night Paul and I watched Zodiac. Good movie! Saturday we spent time with family. Today I worked and now Sunday's almost over. I feel cheated! Off to enjoy the last few hours of my Sunday. See you tomorrow!

long to-do list
My to-do list has gotten really long all of a sudden! It's one of those things where one day you have just enough work to keep you comfortably busy, then the next day you are really busy!Right now I am working on illustrations for a 2009 calendar under the title of Crafty Girls, there will be images of ladies doing all things crafty! Yesterday and today I worked on a knitting piece between doing custom artwork orders. Almost have the kitting piece done. It gave me a really hard time. Yesterday I hated it and I wanted to throw it across the room, but today is a new day and things seem to be coming together.
I met with my friend Dawn this morning for a hot chocolate at Panera. Always a treat to chat with her! As we were leaving we noticed that someone had left their dog in their car with the windows shut. Leaving your dog in your car is against the law in Florida (not to mention cruel and dangerous), in the summer heat they can suffer heat stroke and die in as little as 10 minutes. So we got all up in arms about it. I had the manager at Panera quizzing everyone if it was their car and Dawn called the police, yay Dawn! About 5 minutes later a college guy comes out of Planet Smoothie with an ice cream cone. Well you can bet we yelled at him! I hope we shamed him into never doing that again. I was ready to take his dog away from him! grrr!
On my way home, I called Bernie to chat about what a stupid guy that kid was and how dangerous it was. Bernie sees way worse at her animal rescue every day, I was almost in tears over this little doggie and this wasn't anything like she sees on a daily basis. I don't know how she does it!

Just a few hours ago, while we were having our dinner our TV set was tuned-in to the ABS-CBN's TV Patrol News. One of the featured news caught my attention. It was about the resignation of Malu Fernandez from being a Manila Standard columnist.

Who is Malu Fernandez? If you ask me? I should say I do not know. I just heard her name in that news while ago. But even my curiosity wanted to know what she wrote that triggers outrage to a lot of people, however, I am not interested to know who she is.
Below are the articles that Malu wrote which create controversies online. And causes outrage to a lot of our fellow OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers).
A Manila Standard columnist, Malu Fernandez, who wrote an article entitled “From Boracay to Greece” and published in the People Asia magazine.
However I forgot that the hub was in Dubai and the majority of the OFWs (overseas Filipino workers) were stationed there. The duty-free shop was overrun with Filipino workers selling cell phones and perfume. Meanwhile, I wanted to slash my wrist at the thought of being trapped in a plane with all of them.While I was on the plane (where the seats were so small I had bruises on my legs), my only consolation was the entertainment on the small flat screen in front of me. But it was busted, so I heaved a sigh, popped my sleeping pills and dozed off to the sounds of gum chewing and endless yelling of “HOY! Kumusta ka na? At taga sann ka? Domestic helper ka rin ba?” Translation: “Hey there? Where are you from? Are you a domestic helper as well?” I though I had died and God had sent me to my very own private hell.On my way back, I had to bravely take the economy flight once more. This time I had already resigned myself to being trapped like a sardine in a sardine can with all these OFWs smelling of AXE and Charlie cologne while Jo Malone evaporated into thin air.
And on her attempt to pacify the growing outrage, Malou Fernandez wrote another article but this one put her to an aggravating situation even more.
As I type this, I’d like you to know that it’s not about whining, complaining and bitching but just stating the facts. Just recently, I wrote a funny article in my magazine column and my friends thought it was hilarious. It was humorous and quite tongue-in-cheek, or at least I thought so, until the magazine got a few e-mails from people who didn’t get the meaning of my acerbic wit. The bottom line was just that I had offended the reader’s socioeconomic background. If any of these people actually read anything thicker then a magazine they would find it very funny. Most people don’t get the fact that they need bitches like me to shake up their world, otherwise their lives would be boring and mediocre. I obviously write for the a certain target audience and if what I write offends you, just stop reading.Although it may sound elitist to you the fact is this country is built on the foundation of haves, have-nots and wannabes. One group will never get the culture of the other. Although I could mention that it is easier to understand someone who has a lower socioeconomic background that would entail a whole other page and frankly I don’t want to be someone to bridge the gap between socioeconomic classes. I leave that to the politicians in my family who believe they can actually help. Now I seriously ask you, am I being a diva or are people around me just lacking in common sense? Perhaps it’s a little of both!
Well, I do not want to judge Malu for the reason that I do not know her personally. But, my sentiment goes to our fellow OFWs. Not only to them but to us Filipinos too because it reflects what most of us felt. When the moment I heard that news on TV my immediate remark is: " Hoy, kahit na mamahaling imported perfume yang gamit mo, pango ka pa rin!" In english (hope it is the right translation) "Hey, even if you are using the most expensive imported perfume, your nose is still flat!"

I'm not sure what everyone else thinks of chic-lit, but I personally adore it! I've been re-reading them as an act of procrastination and they are so much fun, there's always a happy ending (well... at least all the ones I can think of) and most of the characters wear fabulous clothes! I do so enjoy the detailed clothing descriptions although the name dropping can get a bit much for some. Plum Sykes (the photo is of her way back in her Vogue days) is a serial offender in my eyes- her books were even called fashion porn by The Independent.Here are my favorite outfits from the Bergdorf Blondes and The Debutante Divorcée respectively. Just for fun. Because I can.

When I saw the trailer of GMA-7's Mel and Joey a day before it's regular show every sunday I was thrilled because they were hyping the Internet Blogging as newest way of money making venture for filipinos. I am not use to watch Mel and Joey show even just once before but because of this I made it to the point that I could watch this particular episode.
This particular episode of Mel and Joey was aired last sunday, August 19, 2007. If you missed this show let us thank romph for uploading it in youtube.

The best part of this show is when one of the host announced - You could Earn $5,000.00 a month through Blogging. Wow!
However, it gives me a little bit disappointment because I am blogging for over a year now but I could even hardly make $50.00 a month. It is good that I visited Yugatech site owned by Abe Olandres the man being interviewed in that show of Mel and Joey. Here he explained through this post "Welcome Notes to Visitors from Mel & Joey" that his earnings of $5,000.00 a month through blogging is not quite true. And I am relieved from my disappointment.
