New accessories...

Two accessories... one for me and one for my iPod! Since a phone is in sight all day, every day, I better get myself a pretty cover to protect it. And it also makes me less annoyed with this phone - I have nearly no reception or internet with it and don't know what the problem is... aaargh! Stopping by Hi (my provider) tomorrow and hope they'll fix it.

What suits me

A little sneak preview... This midnight purple boyfriend blazer was a recent addition to my closet, and I bumped in to the matching tapered pants yesterday. I've never owned a two piece before, and although I probably like the items best individually it's kind of cool to have the option.

Sale season: round two

Like I said, I love combing through online shops when I have the time, especially during sale season. Nothing (in the shopping world) beats seeing an item you've been craving for, for half the price. Because I find it hard to contain myself during sale, I make wishlists and then pick favorites from that. Last week I shared my favorites from My wardrobe, this time I'm turning to ASOS, where sales have now also gone up to 50%. Which suddenly makes things very affordable - all four of these accessories are under €33 - something I think we all love.

ps. Good news: Asos has free world wide delivery! (Not until June, which I misread, but continuously :D)

Sale season: first favorites

Sale season has started and the big 4-letter signs on every window make me want to go straight to shopping. I haven't been able to do so yet, and to compensate I'm combing through the sale sections of my favorite online stores. The only bummer about that is that it usually takes forever. So I'm now listing my favorite sale finds in collages, that I might as well share. Starting today with My Wardrobe, where sale is already up to 50% (it seems like online shows are always earliest with giving half off, am I right?)

My new suede shoes

I've been looking for a high street version of the perfect suede boots with a reference to the Isabel Marant boots - a tan suede pair that is easy going yet elegant enough to wear with dresses. I've found the answer in theseAggie boots and they're just as comfortable as my Pistols! They look great on my feet and I'm looking forward to pairing them with jeans, shorts and flowy dresses.(So much that I might get the black pair as well for that price... 50 euros for suede boots is not bad at all. What do you think?)

Did some iPhone shopping

I must confess, I did some big shopping yesterday... It was between the Balenciaga bag (not yet) or the iPad and then I ended up as the proud owner of an iPhone 4! I was going to wait until my Blackberry contract ends (in a long time) but woke up in a shopping spirit. The iPhone 4 suits me better than my Blackberry because of the high quality camera, photo apps and good internet options. I think, when you have the chance, it's a smart thing to invest in a good camera, laptop and phone as a blogger. After all, a lot of what we do takes place on these technological devices :) (and Angry Birds is a nice little extra)

Summer shorts

Saturday was filled with activities, so I needed a look that would suit the different things on my agenda (like a meeting, shopping, a lunch date). So I opted for an easy outfit in white, cream, charcoal and black and a hint of orange. And I took my new COS sandals out for a spin. I bought those the day before and I love the simplicity, and the leather is extremely soft and thick. (I'm afraid I got them one a little too big though!)

My YSL clutch

You might have seen my new Yves Saint Laurent clutch make an appearance in this outfit posts, but nonetheless it deserved it's own spot on the blog (it is my first designer bag after all!) It's now subtly displayed on a shelf in my closet, screaming to be taken out for a night of cocktails.

Some sweet shopping

Clicked home some items from my 'to get' list at Shopbop and found them on my doorstep just a few days later. First was a pair of office appropriate shorts - surprisingly these pure silk ones T by Alexander Wang shorts costed me just as much as my silk top from Zara. Then the tortoise sunnies I showed you here, a big cocktail ring from my last outfit post (I didn't have any gold rings!). And lastly a pair of 7 for All Mankind skinny jeggings. They look and feel like perfect dark grey skinnies but are a bit more elastic so they fit like a glove. Too bad I ordered them a bit too small... And getting a size up will cost me a lot of import taxes again. So just send me an e-mail if you're interested in those! (they are a size 27) :)

What did I get?
House of Harlow grey leather cocktail ring
7 for All Mankind grey skinny jeans/jeggings
Karen Walker turtoise deep freeze sunglasses

New sunnies

My new Deep Freeze sunglasses by Karen Walker. More pics after the jump!

During sunny days, my Wayfarers often make a guest appearance in outfit posts. To switch things up a little, and probably to compensate for the crappy weather lately ;) I ordered these sunnies by Karen Walker, one of my favorite brands for all sorts of fab frames. I went with a more square shape in turtoise because it's different from my black Wayfarers, yet still they kind of have a similar feel, don't you think?

New nude by Filippa K

Bought this small, nude leather Filippa K bag last week. Just big enough to store my Blackberry, wallet and mascara, so ideal for parties, the beach and other summer fun. It was already frayed and a little scratched, so I got a big discount and couldn't resist after drooling over the black version a while ago. I fell for the shape - the square bag with a round pocket on top. After a few hours of wear though, the leather showed light black smears from what I can only assume was my lace skirt. Guess I'm not so lucky in the style department this week! Since I also discovered an untraceable marks on my neon Zara top. Do you have the same bad luck when it comes to stains on new clothes sometimes?

Shoot you with my Pistol boots

I can't tell you how great it feels to finally have boots with a lower heel that can take me around town all day. My choices were pretty much limited to All Stars and a bunch of really high heels. At first I ordered a pair of Pistol look-a-likes because they were a bit more affordable. Gorgeous, but they didn't fit. So I decided to get the Acne version after all and I couldn't be more happy.

Acne addition

About time I showed you this cream silky draped Acne dress that's been hanging in my room for quite a while. It's the perfect summer dress and doesn't need much next to some simple jewelry and possibly high heels and a jacket. I like to invest in classic items like these, that are perfect on their own, made of the best materials and a little bit different but still basic enough to wear them for years.

Take two

To most of you these boots are no strangers... You've seen me debut their orange counterparts last week (I wore them here). And now I couldn't help but cave for all black. I'm sporting them today, when I'll be speaking for a 160 people audience at Sanoma Media Parade to talk about This chick's got style and about my new book: 'Focus op Fans', the first Dutch book about brand activation. Let's hope these fellas are a lucky charm!

Shoe shopping

Click, click, shop, shop. In a matter of minutes I clicked home these orange/red platforms two weeks ago, after seeing them on a Swedish blog. And although the quality isn't great, I think these boots are pretty awesome. I have a thing for chunky shoes with major platforms anyway. They're quite the showstoppers here in Amsterdam!

On a more personal note...

I'm looking for an affordable appartment / studio in Amsterdam.
With no shared commodities, no roommates. Just me :)

Any ideas?

Something new

Something I think is absolutely fantastic, is a jackets that's partial leather, partial something else. I haven't found a short version yet (except this Gestuz one I borrowed and wore here in London). But this long version with big collar and zip detail from Shampalove is pretty damn awesome as well. The rest of the outfit will follow shortly :)
PS. speaking of short... most of you that follow me on Twitter know I got a much needed hair cut. It's not what I had in mind at all - or asked for. Honestly, I was a bit upset and it took me a few hours (OK, two days) of feeling sorry for myself :P But in the end I have to face that a wrong hair cut, as much as it makes me feel bad, is not the most important thing going on in the world right now.

Wrapped around your finger

As you might have noticed, I like my rings either tiny or really big. And with two days left of free worldwide shipping at ASOS, I couldn't resist putting something in my shopping cart. I didn't buy any clothes - yet - but went for these rings in an interesting copper tone. I still have a thing for stars (although you see them way too often these days). And the tiny heart ring is too cute. And it's 2,60, need I say more? Plus the triple finger ring is pretty cool and minimal and great to make an everyday outfit a bit more special.

New buys from London

In the few hours of shopping time in London, I found a replacement for my favorite grey T that has a tiny hole since last week (sad, it was my softest top) a new cuff, fun nail colors at Topshop (my little pleasure) and a midi length pleated skirt in a beautiful wine color that I'll wear in spring.

Big beauty

I was told this tan beauty wasn't originally designed as a clutch, but as a laptop cover (it's even from the men's). Honestly, it is quite spacious, but with oversized bags in mind I took a different approach to it. It no longer functions the way it's 'supposed' to, but as my big leather purse. I think women go more crazy over soft, zipped camel leather than men anyway ;) And there's no way my laptop would fit in there! While playing around with it, I folded it and it looks nice that way too... Did you ever use something for a different function?  - Clutch, ehmmm... laptop case from H&M (in stores week 10)
