Five Immediate Things that I Do After Losing a Job

Just this afternoon, I decided to buy grocery items in one of the Malls here in our place. And while strolling inside the Mall, I met my long time friend. He was shocked after knowing that the company where I am working is now closed. I can feel his concern. He was so worried for my fate and the future of my family.

Well, I told him that I am trying to do things one day at a time. That, I do some re-prioritizing with our usual way of life. And, below are the Five Immediate Things that I Do after losing a Job:

1. Review Our Spending - we must not buy anything unless these are extremely important for us. Basically, we will spend our money only for the most basic needs such as food, fare and etc.

2. Review Our Household Bills - Electric Bills and Water Bills must be controlled. Unnecessary use of electricity and as well as the use water will be strictly observed.

3.  Stay Healthy by Being Emotionally Strong - Yes we really need to be emotionally strong. We must avoid too much stress facing our life's problem. Because, otherwise this might be the cause for us to get sick and drain our savings fast. We can not afford to get sick!

4.  Make an Inventory of the Things Inside our House - we must segregate valuable things in our house such as jewelries, clothes, DVD's/CD's, kitchen utensils and etc. in order to sell them in the near future if the situation warrants.

5.  Do Not Stop Praying - yes praying as majority of us believers knew that this the only way to make our Hope go strong. If we feel that our mortal families and friends abandoning us then we have an Immortal Family and a Friend up there Who are always with us no matter what.

So, I told my friend that those are the things that I do,  right after I lose my Job. Of course, I told him also about my plans to augment our income while I am still jobless. However, the details of  this will be posted in my next blog post.  Until then... God Bless to us all!

Horse with a Name

The picture below was taken during the barangay election last October 29, 2007. The name printed on the body of that horse run as a barangay chairman or a village leader of that place. He was using the horse as his unique way of doing his electoral campaign. He just made his supporter stroll around the village while tagging along the horse. Indeed, it worked! He won the election. Congratulations chairman.

Maybe the new chairman will sing the song of America entitled "Horse with No Name..." but the lyrics will be slightly changed specially in the chorus and it goes like this:
You see I've been through the village
using horse with my name
It felt good to be out to campaign
In the village they can remember my name
'Cause there ain't no one for to give me no win
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la,la,la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la,la,la

Obviously they are referring to this blog. I started this blog last April of this year and since then I already made 58 posts. And this post is my 59th.

Well, I am not trying to be a sour gripper here. PayPerPost just paid me $15.00. And I thank them for that. I am just wondering that's all. Could they make mistakes? Or It is just a blooper.

Winner's List

Tomorrow is a great Equalizer

Tomorrow, May 14, 2007 is an election day for all the people in the Philippines. There are about 45 million registered voters who are going to trek to election polls to vote.

The filipino people will vote for 12 national senators among the 36 running. And at the same time will vote also for governors, mayors, congressman and etc. for their own respective localities.

As the report says, this is the most number of election related violence and death that is recorded in history. Also, this is the most expensive elections when it comes to expenses that incurred by all the politicians specially at the senatorial level. The amount combined is so staggering that it reached to a more than One billion pesos.

This expenses are so astonishing and it is sad to note because in reality a lot of filipino people at present have nothing or less food to eat as required for a human being.

But, anyway this post is about tomorrow as a great equalizer. It is because of the fact that people from all walks of life has only one vote to cast. May he be a billionaire,an executive, a businessman, a farmer, a vagrant and etc. everybody has only one vote. Nobody has a privilege to cast a vote more than once.

This is the other side of my stentorized blogging. This is the reality of tomorrow's election. And this is the bright side. This is a reminder to all of us that in an unfair world we live in there are events in our lives, whether we like it or not, we become evenly equal with our fellow beings.

So to all my fellow countrymen, I ask you to vote wisely! God Bless Us All and our country the Philippines.
